Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Public Toilet Facility in Bago

A groundbreaking ceremony for a public toilet facility was held at 6:40 a.m. at the designated site north of the Mon congregation hall and west of Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda in Bago.

Participants included Bago Region Hluttaw Chairman U Khin Maung Yin; Bago Region Minister for Natural Resources, Environmental Conservation and Development Dr. Saw Nyo Win; Regional Minister for Social Affairs Daw Nyunt Nyunt Htay; Bago Township Development Committee Chairman Dr. Aung Khin; Sun Shine Yangon Co., Ltd. Managing Director Mr. Kim Tae Won; and members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees.

The World Toilet Association (WTA) of Korea donated USD 35,000 toward the project. Sun Shine Yangon Co., Ltd. was appointed to construct the three-story building, measuring 60 feet long and 30 feet wide.

According to U Win Maung, a member of the Pagoda Board of Trustees, the upper floor will accommodate offices, a library, and a healthcare center.
